My name is Brent Wheeler and this is my third year teaching at IACS. My family and I moved to Nampa from Puyallup, WA. I teach Elementary Dance (which I like to call Creative Movement), Middle School African Drumming and High School Health.
I was born and raised in the small town of Camas, WA. I received my B.A. degree in Physical Education and Health from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. I have also earned a M.A. degree in Creative Arts from Lesley University.
I have been teaching for 15 years. Prior to coming to IACS I worked for the Fife School District in Tacoma, WA. I have taught P.E., Creative Movement and African Drumming during my teaching career.
My family includes my wife Toni, who teaches in the Vallivue School District, my thirteen year-old son Gavin, who plays the violin, and a Beagle named Rose. We like to spend time backpacking, exploring unique and interesting out of the way places. In my spare time I enjoy thrift store shopping, cooking, fishing and mountain climbing.
