Hi, My name is Damaris Eckstrom and I love teaching math and science! I have been teaching for at least 10 years. Before I came to the IACS I taught at Nampa Christian High School. I grew up in central Washington in apple country and attended University of Puget Sound in Tacoma Washington where I received a B.S. degree in Chemistry and a minor in French. I got married after college and have three mostly adult children. While my children were in school, I went to NNU and obtained my teaching certification in math and physical science. I am currently working on a Masters of Business Administration degree at NNU and I should graduate winter of 2007.
I love the arts! I play the piano and taught beginning piano for several year. I also love to create and design, especially with flowers. I am continually planting and working in my yard. I love to see things grow.
I also love to travel. I was an exchange student to Calcutta, India, in the 1976, and again I studied abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France in 1980. I have taken groups of students to the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, the British Isles, and most recently, Italy.
I enjoy the small school setting where I can get to know students well. IACS is a perfect place to learn and develop talents in many ways. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you. |
