Marilyn Sweeny - 3rd/4th Grade Teacher
27 years teaching experience in the elementary grades, raised three daughters and returned to teaching at Nampa Christian for 12 years and then the last 7 years at Iowa Elementary in Nampa. Used a lot of creative activities in my teaching; music, choreography, plays, art, story telling, etc.
Graduate of Olivet Nazarene University 1966, and Masters of Education in October of 2003 at Lesley University with a degree in "Integrating the Arts Into the Curriculum"
Member of the CHI Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society Honors;
- 1994 Idaho Press Tribune, Award of Recognition in the Best Teacher Category, Reader's Choice Award
- Recipient of 3 grants
- Chosen by Idaho Humanities Council to participate in the Idaho History Project Institute
Raised our three girls with piano and violin study. Girls all involved in school theatrical and community productions. Youngest daughter earned title of Miss Idaho 2000 - talent -opera. Girls involved in horsemanship activities on a competitive level. Husband, Larry Sweeney, former owners of Nampa Christian Book and Supply.
