Idaho Arts Charter School
Karen Ruminski - Special Education

Hello all, my name is Karen Ruminski and I have been teaching part-time Special Education at the Idaho Arts Charter School for the last two years. Before that, I taught English, French, and German in Emmett High School for three years. From 2001 until 2004, I instructed a Basic Writing Skills class at BSU. I gained an M.A. in English/American Studies in the Netherlands and I'm endorsed in French, German, English, and Special Education as well. I love teaching my kids at the Idaho Arts Charter School the skills they need in life as well as in the academic setting.

My husband of 8 years, Leonard, is Polish, my step kids are American, and I am Dutch. We own two great dogs and two cats. At home we speak a mixture of English and gibberish. We all love boating, hiking, biking, playing tennis, and skiing. My favorite pastime though is reading in a coffee shop (preferably Rembrandts in Eagle) and playing league tennis with my great team. Leonard and I also like travel to Europe and the Caribbean at least once a year to visit our families.

I am looking forward to teach again this year at IACS!
