Hi, My name is Damaris Wight and I love teaching math and science! I have been teaching for over 12 years. Before I came to the IACS I taught at Nampa Christian High School. I grew up in central Washington in apple country and attended University of Puget Sound in Tacoma Washington where I received a B.S. degree in Chemistry and a minor in French. I have three adult children, three adult step children, and three grandbabies. I went to NNU and obtained my teaching certification in math and physical science in 1996 and I completed a Masters of Business Administration degree from NNU in 2007. I am currently an adjunct professor for NNU and teach the Quantitative Methods course for their MBA program.
I love the arts! I play the piano and taught piano for several years. I also love to create and design, especially with flowers. I am continually planting and working in my yard. I love to see things grow. We purchased a new house this summer and now I have a new Landscaping challenge. I also love to travel. I was an exchange student to Calcutta, India, in the 1976, and again I studied abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France in 1980. I have taken groups of students to the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, the British Isles, Italy, and most recently a Broadway trip to New York City.
I enjoy the small school setting of IACS where I can get to know students well. IACS is a perfect place to learn and develop talents in many ways. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you.
