Idaho Arts Charter School
Kelli Brown - Dance Teacher

Congratulations to Mrs. Brown named the Northwest Dance Educator of the Year!

Kelli Brown
I have been a public school educator for the past 16 years. This will be my fourth year at Idaho Arts Charter School as one of the dance instructors for the dance program and I will be teaching all levels of Junior High and High School dance. I am a Co-Director of the award winning, Platinum Dancers. If you have not seen our new state of the art dance studio, please come and visit!

I was awarded Dance Educator of the Year (2004) by the Idaho AHPERD and NW Dance Educator of the Year (2009). In addition to teaching for IACS, I have been a dance instructor with the United Spirit Association (USA) for 14 years teaching in over 10 Western states. I have had the chance to choreograph in Paris, France for USA and for the ABC televised "Very Merry Christmas Parade" in 2000. I am currently an adjunct professor at both the College of Idaho and Boise State University.

My performance experience includes dancing with groups including Drop Dance Collective, Idaho Dance Theatre, Boise State Mane Line Dancers, Idaho Stampede Dancers and the NBA Seattle Super Sonic Dancers. This past year I began my own company, the Off Center Dance Project. In addition to my BS in physical education, I hold an MA from CSULB and an MFA from UWM in dance.

I have been married for the past 19 years to my wonderful husband Rich, who is a fireman. Most recently, I was awarded an artist residency with BoDo to help develop the next show for my professional dance company. I look forward to a fantastic year at IACS!
