I have been a public school educator for the past 17 years. This will be my fifth year at Idaho Arts Charter School as one of the dance instructors for the dance program and I will be teaching all levels of Junior High and High School dance. I am a Co-Director of the State A-2 Champion Platinum Dancers. If you have not seen our state of the art dance studio, please come and visit!
This last year I have been very fortunate. I was awarded a Surdna Fellowship, an Idaho Commission on the Arts Grant, a Boise Arts and History Department Artist in Residence award and went to nationals as the NW Dance Educator of the Year (2009). In addition to teaching for IACS, I am an adjunct professor at Boise State University where I teach Modern Dance.
This last year was an exciting time for me artistically, too. I began my own company, Off Center Dance Project that performed in Twin Falls, Boise and McCall. My performance experience includes dancing with groups including Drop Dance Collective, Idaho Dance Theatre, Boise State Mane Line Dancers, Idaho Stampede Dancers and the NBA Seattle Super Sonic Dancers.
I have been married for the past 20 years to my wonderful husband Rich, who is a fireman. We have two wonderful dogs and love living the Treasure Valley!
