Idaho Arts Charter School
Anna Lyerly
1st/2nd Grade Teacher
Hello! My name is Anna Lyerly and I will be teaching 1st/2nd grade at IACS. This will be my first year here, and I could not be happier! I knew this was the school for me when I first started my education classes back in college. The arts have played an important role in my life, and I truly believe that a well-rounded education is irreplaceable. My goal is to provide my students a fun and engaging learning experience that is relevant, meaningful and will instill in them a love for learning. What better way to do this than through arts integration!?
I graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with my elementary education degree. During college I ran the afterschool education program at the Boys and Girls Club, worked as a psychosocial rehabilitator with developmentally challenged children, and tutored elementary students in reading and writing. I spent my internship year teaching 1st grade at Ronald Reagan Elementary. Prior to joining the team at IACS I taught preschool and pre-kindergarten at Teaching World. I also taught ballet classes at Xpressions Dance Academy. I have been teaching ballet for five years, and been doing it for twenty. I am so excited that I get to teach creative movement to my students at IACS.
My favorite color is pink. I like to eat healthy food, but I really LOVE coffee and chocolate too. For fun I enjoy dancing, singing, being with my friends, reading, shopping, and being active. In general, I love to try and experience new things. Growing up my wonderful parents gave me the opportunity to try just about everything.
From sports, to music, to manners classes, and everything you can imagine in between. I have them to thank for giving me every opportunity to learn and grow.
I am happy to report that my fiancé Justin and I will be getting married very soon! If you wonder why you keep hearing of a "Mrs. Williams" don't be confused. God has truly blessed me with a great man, and this new job. His timing in my life has been perfect, and it is with was much anticipation that I look forward to this year!
