1st/2nd Grade Teacher
Hello! My name is Andrea (Griffitts) Alexander. I will be teaching a 1/2 combo class this year. This is my first full-time teaching position and I am looking forward to being a part of the Idaho Arts team of great teachers. I love art and it gives me great joy to be able to integrate it into the curriculum. I am especially excited to put all of the strategies I have learned into action!
I grew up in Nampa, Idaho. My parents have been a huge source of love and support in my life and always encouraged my creative endeavors. I have only one sister and she teaches first grade in the Boise school district. Apart from my immediate family I am soon to be married to my fiancé, Joel Alexander. Our wedding date is on August 15th!
I attended college at Boise Sate University, where I earned a Psychology degree. I completed my education to become a teacher at Northwest Nazarene University. From there, I continued on to complete my Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction at NNU and just finished this July!
On a personal note, I enjoy spending most of my free time with my family, friends and fiancé. I love animals and volunteer at the Idaho humane society when I get a chance. Also, I love music, drawing, photography, writing poetry, traveling and spending time outside. I also love to exercise at the YMCA when I have the time. I look forward to this coming school year and can’t wait to meet the students in my class!
